Job summary
Smithfield Foods in Georgia is seeking a skilled Electrician to join our maintenance team at our pork processing plant. You will ensure safe and efficient operation of electrical systems, troubleshoot and repair motors, controls, lighting, and power distribution to keep production running smoothly.
We offer competitive starting pay at $35.03/hr, comprehensive health insurance, retirement benefits, and education assistance.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
- 2+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- PLC experience highly desired.
- Must read and write fluently in English for technical manuals.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair plant electrical systems, motors, panels, lighting, and power distribution.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues to minimize downtime and keep production moving.
- Install electrical upgrades and assist during emergencies and plant shutdowns.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams and document work thoroughly.
