Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. in Wisconsin seeks a Health and Safety Manager to implement and sustain the facility's Health and Safety programs, ensuring regulatory compliance and protecting human health and the environment.

You will lead safety culture initiatives, conduct hazard assessments and inspections, manage workers' compensation, and coordinate with HR and regulators to drive continuous improvement and OSHA compliance across the plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental or chemical engineering, safety management, industrial hygiene, industrial risk, management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of increasing experience in an industrial manufacturing setting, preferably food manufacturing.
• Must be computer literate and able to complete projects with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide pro-active leadership and guidance for a strong safety culture in all areas.
• Develop and maintain close working relationship with manufacturing personnel.
• Develop and manage a facility safety strategy including job hazard assessments, plant inspections, and accident investigations.
• Track and verify corrective actions, audit EHS programs, and maintain OSHA-related records.
• Manage workers' compensation claims from incident to closure and coordinate with HR.
• Prepare monthly and annual occupational health and safety reports.
• Oversee Hazard Communication (MSDS) and liaise with regulators and 3rd parties.
• Coordinate local process safety management activities and NH3 system inspections.
• Develop training programs for new employees and ongoing safety education.
• Lead EHS tailgate trainings and support Saputo values in daily operations.
