Job summary

Danone USA in Minster, Ohio is seeking an EHS Specialist to lead safety, environmental and health programs at the site, ensuring compliance and sustainable practices.

You will manage the LOTO program, develop risk assessments, deliver training, support capital projects, and drive continuous improvement across safety, quality and cost. The role requires knowledge of OSHA/EPA regs, LEAN/Six Sigma, and the ability to operate in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in occupational safety, environmental concentration, chemistry or related field and 2+ years of experience in safety or environmental management in an industrial setting.
• Candidates without a completed bachelor’s or master’s degree will be considered if they have 5+ years of relevant EHS industry work experience and a HS diploma/GED.
• Prior experience in a food/beverage manufacturing environment is preferred; supervisory experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop Company Safety, Security and Environmental Compliance Programs and vision utilized by all workers to understand and employ safety, environmental and security policies.
• Lead Lockout Tagout (LOTO) program management and define leadership skills required by all.
• Develop risk assessment methods to anticipate, identify, evaluate and reduce hazards.
• Develop and implement training systems to meet facility needs.
• Support capital projects to improve safety and environmental performance.
• Manage resources to lead and support safety systems.
• Develop safety metrics and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure incident investigations and corrective actions are completed.
• Create, audit and implement programs for OSHA/EPA compliance and site permitting.
• Engage in Ammonia Refrigeration Management, Tier II Chemical Inventory, TRI and Waste programs.
• Other duties as assigned.
