Job summary

Danone North America seeks an EHS Specialist based in Minster, Ohio to lead safety, environmental compliance, and training across the site. You will own LOTO programs, risk assessments and incident investigations while supporting capital projects that enhance safety and environmental performance.

The role requires 2+ years of related experience or 5+ years with a HS diploma, with a strong focus on LEAN/Six Sigma methods and effective training delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in occupational safety, environmental concentration, chemistry or related field with 2+ years of safety or environmental management in an industrial setting.
• Candidates without a completed degree may qualify with 5+ years of relevant EHS experience and a HS diploma or GED.
• Food/beverage manufacturing experience preferred; supervisory experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop Company Safety, Security and Environmental Compliance Programs and vision used by all workers.
• Lead the WISE safety process: goals, scope, and leadership competencies.
• Manage the site's Lock Out Tag Out program (LOTO).
• Lead risk assessment methods/systems to identify and reduce hazards.
• Develop and implement training systems to meet facility needs.
• Support capital projects to improve safety and environmental performance.
• Allocate resources to lead and support safety systems.
• Develop safety metrics and continuous improvement recommendations.
• Ensure incident investigations and corrective actions are completed.
• Create, audit and implement programs for permitting and compliance (OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001).
• Involve in Ammonia Refrigeration Management, Tier II, TRI and Waste programs.
