Job summary

Briggs & Stratton seeks an experienced EHS leader to oversee plant-level safety and environmental compliance, coordinating with federal, state, and local contacts. You will implement and administer EHS programs, investigate incidents, and partner with leadership to drive preventative measures.

You will coordinate safety rules, maintain records, manage environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives, and conduct site inspections and audits.

Qualifications

• Three years of EHS experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Environmental Engineering or related Science disciplines.
• Strong regulatory knowledge (OSHA, EPA, DNR) and safety compliance experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and implements safety rules, policies, and initiatives to create a safe workplace; maintains OSHA logs, EHS records, and reporting for internal and external use.
• Coordinates environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives (hazardous waste, air emissions, water permits) with internal and external experts.
• Coordinates site activities with regulatory agencies to verify compliance and maintain good working relationships.
• Escalates/reports potential violations and implements corrective actions.
• Conducts frequent safety and environmental inspections and audits and takes immediate corrective action when needed.
• Recommends and implements EHS-related capital projects for the site.
• Investigates workplace accidents and environmental incidents to establish root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Partners with Global Security to implement protections for employees and assets.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
