Job summary

Georgia Power is seeking a skilled Instrument & Controls Technician to support the operation and maintenance of Plant Yates safety and efficiency. The role focuses on maintaining digital and physical control systems, instrumentation, and related equipment essential to reliable plant performance.

The successful candidate will troubleshoot complex electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, utilize a variety of tools, and work with minimal supervision while collaborating across shifts and teams.

Qualifications

Requires an approved two-year technical associate's degree from a certified technical institution or military equivalent training (e.g., Navy Nuclear Power School).
Minimum of two years' experience in electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic instrumentation and controls in Power Plant Maintenance is preferred.
Experience with DCS, TCS, PLCs, CEMS and other digital control systems is desired.

Responsibilities

Maintain and troubleshoot plant controls and electrical systems for Plant Yates.
Complete repairs as necessary to support continuous operation.
Maintain instrumentation such as pressure, temperature, level and flow devices and collect data for control systems.
