Job summary

Georgia-Pacific Corrugated in Augusta, GA is seeking a motivated Electrical & Instrumentation Technician for our Maintenance team. You will troubleshoot, repair, calibrate and install plant electrical, instrumentation and automation equipment to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of electrical or instrumentation troubleshooting in manufacturing, with experience in PLCs, motor controls, valves, and both DC and AC motors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical or instrumentation troubleshooting in manufacturing.
• Experience troubleshooting PLCs, motor controls, valves, and DC/AC motors (24–480 V).
• Expert in reading electrical schematics/blueprints.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70 arc flash and OSHA safety rules.
• Experience installing, calibrating and maintaining HMI and DCS instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate and install plant electrical, instrumentation and automation equipment.
• Troubleshoot downtime events quickly and effectively.
• Maintain machines at centerline conditions and standard speeds.
• Identify and initiate maintenance repairs to sustain performance.
• Use specialized software to maintain instrumentation, PLCs and electrical systems.
• Install, calibrate, monitor, modify and maintain PLC, HMI and DCS control instrumentation.
• Read electrical diagrams, schematics and drawings to guide work.
• Operate and train on HMI and robotics system controls.
• Manage EI projects for new or existing installations.
