Georgia Power’s Plant Scherer is seeking I&C Technicians to maintain and troubleshoot the plant’s electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic controls. You’ll work on instrumentation and control systems, document in MAXIMO, and perform repairs safely, with a 24/7 shift commitment as needed.
The role requires a two-year technical degree and familiarity with DCS, PLCs, GE Mark VIe, and Foxboro systems, plus a readiness to support operations across a large generating fleet.

Plant Scherer is located approx. 1 hour from ATL and 2 hours from Savannah offering proximity to urban and coastal amenities without the commute associated with either.
This position performs technical and analytical services essential to the control systems and associated equipment (electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic) for the operation of Plant Scherer. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the plant controls and electrical circuits in addition to completing repairs as necessary. The incumbent will also be expected to perform all work safely while maintaining instrumentation, including but not limited to, pressure, temperature, level, and flow devices that provide input to the various control systems. All work is to be performed in compliance with environmental permits and regulations. Completing data sheets, test records, and other operational documentation is required for equipment and systems in the computer-based work order system, MAXIMO ® . Must understand and utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, measurement, and test equipment in the performance of duties.
