Job summary

Atmos Energy Corporation seeks a Plant Controls Specialist to support installation, operation, and maintenance of control, measurement, and SCADA equipment for engines, compressors, and well facilities. You will test PLC/DCS systems and calibrate control equipment while ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

The role requires an associate degree or GED with relevant experience, strong communication and numeric skills, and basic computer proficiency.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in engineering technology, electronics or computer science or a related field with two years related experience.
• Or a GED/high school diploma with three years related experience in operations, maintenance and troubleshooting gas pipeline facilities.
• Ability to communicate with internal/external customers.
• Numeric skills to apply research methods and advanced mathematics.
• Basic computer skills to use software applications for documents/reports and graphics.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for installation, operation, and maintenance of control, measurement, and SCADA equipment related to engines, compressors, auxiliary equipment, and well facilities.
• Test, calibrate, and maintain engine and compressor control equipment including PLC and DCS systems.
• Test, calibrate, and maintain auxiliary equipment and other control equipment.
• Review control/measurement/SCADA information and schedule required operation and maintenance activities to improve accuracy and integrity.
• Review performance of facilities and implement maintenance or modifications to improve efficiency and control capabilities.
• Perform required code compliance activities related to plant facilities.
• Maintain records to demonstrate compliance with Company and regulatory requirements.
• Support responsiveness to all system emergencies.
• Interface with supervision, gas control and engineering to define SCADA requirements for new installations.
