Job summary

AgGrowth International (AGI) is seeking a Controls Engineer to design and optimize electrical controls and automation across manufacturing operations. You will work with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and suppliers to improve equipment performance and safety.

The ideal candidate has hands-on PLC experience, strong electrical controls knowledge, and the ability to translate manufacturing needs into practical automation solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of controls/automation experience in manufacturing.
• Hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with HMIs, VFDs, sensors, motor controls, and industrial electrical systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience supporting manufacturing equipment in a plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, modify, and maintain industrial control systems for manufacturing equipment and plant systems.
• Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, motion control, and other automation systems.
• Develop and maintain electrical control logic, control panels, instrumentation, and documentation.
• Support integration of new equipment, robotics, and automated production systems.
• Evaluate equipment controls and identify opportunities to improve reliability, safety, throughput, and efficiency.
• Develop automated solutions to reduce manual processes, downtime, scrap, and constraints.
• Provide controls engineering support for capital projects and plant upgrades.
• Lead/participate in FAT/SAT, commissioning, startup, and validation.
