Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a Controller I for our Prepared Foods plant in the United States. This role leads cost accounting, financial analysis, and payroll functions, collaborates with operations to drive cost improvements, and guides the budgeting process.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in finance or accounting with 4+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, plus strong knowledge of GAAP and SOX controls. Sponsorship is not available. Relocation assistance may be offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting required; CMA, MBA and/or CPA would be a plus.
• 4+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment with an understanding of standard cost and variance reporting; food manufacturing preferred.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced PC skills (SAP, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
• Knowledgeable in GAAP, Cost Accounting, Fixed Assets, General Ledger, Payroll, and SOX.

Responsibilities

• Direct cost accounting and financial analysis activities; ensure accuracy of product and production costs and variances.
• Oversee payroll systems, internal controls, and financial accounting processes.
• Provide direction on internal and external financial reporting and forecasting; supervise plant performance reporting.
• Maintain relationships with HQ, maintenance, operations, and engineering teams.
• Support LEAN and safety initiatives with credible financial analysis.
• Lead the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Long Range Plan (LRP), and SOX controls; coordinate audits.
