Printpack Inc. in Villa Rica, GA is seeking a Plant Controller to lead finance and accounting for the Converting plant. This role drives cost accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting, partnering with operations to optimize performance.

The ideal candidate has manufacturing accounting experience, ERP/JD Edwards familiarity, and a proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams while safeguarding assets and ensuring accurate financial statements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent required.
• Public accounting/auditing background preferred in manufacturing.
• Experience with large ERP systems; JD Edwards a plus.
• Strong cost accounting across complex product lines.
• CPA/MBA/MACC credentials are a plus.
• Proven track record leading and influencing others.

Responsibilities

• Onsite work at Villa Rica 1 facility.
• Manage plant accounting functions including staff, inventory, cost accounting, reporting and budgeting.
• Protect assets through internal controls.
• Develop and maintain inventory and performance standards.
• Oversee monthly close, financial statements, and variance analysis.
• Ensure accuracy of financial statements, inventories, and profitability reporting.
• Provide financial analysis for capital investments and process improvements.
• Communicate with all levels of the organization.

Job description

Printpack has an opening for a Plant Controller located at the Converting plant in Villa Rica, Ga. The Plant Controller position is responsible for leading one of our Villa Rica Plant's finance & accounting activities.

Preferred Experience & Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience
• Public Accounting (Audit) / Manufacturing background
• Experience working with large ERP systems; JD Edwards experience is a plus
• Solid cost accounting experience with extensive/complex product lines
• CPA, MBA, MACC - all a plus
• Proven track record of leading and influencing others

Key Responsibilities

• This position requires working onsite in the Villa Rica 1 facility.
• Proactively manage plant accounting functions, including oversight of accounting personnel, inventory valuations, manufacturing cost accounting, reporting/analysis, and forecasting/budgeting.
• Protect plant assets through the development and monitoring of internal controls.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of inventory and operational performance standards.
• Manage the monthly financial closing process, preparation and review of financial statements, and analysis of variances vs. forecast, standard, and budget.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, inventories, and customer/product profitability reporting.
• Provide financial analysis to support business decisions regarding investments in capital equipment and plant process improvements.
• Exhibit strong working knowledge of financial concepts, operational systems, and analytical tools.
• Demonstrate strong leadership presence in production and business decision-making, along with the ability to positively influence and interpret operational results.
• Effectively communicate and interact with all levels and functions of the organization.
