Job summary

Printpack Inc. in Villa Rica, Georgia, seeks a Multicraft Technician for the VR I facility to maintain plant equipment and ensure optimum operation. Responsibilities cover mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical tasks with a focus on preventive maintenance and precise measurement checks.

The role offers a 12-hour night shift (7pm–7am) on a 3/2 rotating schedule, with a base pay range and a $2.50 night-shift premium, plus comprehensive benefits and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with manual and power tools
  • Troubleshoot/repair mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic problems
  • Basic fabrication and machining skills
  • Use of precision measuring devices (micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, tape)
  • Check fuses; wire motors; repair lighting issues
  • Repair plumbing and add piping as required

Responsibilities

  • Use systematic problem solving to analyze and resolve issues
  • Demonstrate proficiency in machine shop practices, welding, fabrication, minor electrical, plumbing, and reading diagrams
  • Follow mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic layouts
  • Track maintenance work using computer-based software
  • Perform effective troubleshooting and data-driven decisions
  • Maintain knowledge of safety rules and good housekeeping
  • Collaborate with team to support process decisions

Job description

Printpack, a leading manufacturer of plastic products, is seeking a qualified candidate interested in becoming a Multicraft Technician for their VR I facility located in Villa Rica, Georgia. This position will be responsible for the general maintenance of the plant in keeping the equipment/plant in optimum operating condition through exhibited knowledge of mechanics, machine shop practices, mechanical support, and equipment installations/modifications.

Pay: $26.16 - $39.24 Plus an additional night shift premium of $2.50 per hour

Schedule: 12-hour night shift. 3/2 rotating schedule. 7pm - 7am (after training)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Proficiency in using manual and power tools
  • Ability to trouble-shoot/repair mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic problems
  • Basic fabrication and machining skills
  • Use of precision measuring devices including micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, pye tape, etc.
  • Ability to check fuses; wire motors; repair lighting issues
  • Ability to repair plumbing issues; add additional piping as required
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ability to use a systematic approach in solving problems through analysis of problem and evaluation of alternate solutions; use logic, mathematics, or other problem solving tools in data analysis or in generating solutions.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of technical skills to include, but not limited to, the following: proficient in machine shop practices - welding, fabrication, minor electrical skills, plumbing skills, computer skills, troubleshooting, reading a micrometer, drill press operation, and reading and understanding diagrams.
  • Ability to follow mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic layouts.
  • Tracks work performance through use of computer based maintenance software.
  • Efficient and effective troubleshooting ability.
  • Knowledge and effective use of computerized systems.
  • Working knowledge of production support system.
  • Passion for driving results & demonstrated history of self development
  • Demonstrate knowledge of plant and process safety rules, safe operating methods, and good housekeeping.
  • Demonstrates effective interaction skills to support team activities related to effective process decisions and goals.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
