Job summary

Ingredion in Bridgewater, NJ, invites a Summer 2027 Protein Fortification Applications Intern to contribute to research on plant-based proteins and co-products. You will characterize ingredient functionality through tests and help develop predictive tools for faster product development.

Suitable candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in food science, chemical engineering, or chemistry with lab experience and strong communication skills. On-site internship, 40 hours/week.

Qualifications

• Progress toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree in food science, chemical engineering, chemistry or related field with lab research experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written technical communication skills.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced laboratory setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct literature, patent searches and summarize outcomes in reports.
• Perform laboratory experiments, analyze data and inform project teams.
• Coordinate and report data from experiments.
• Record data in ELN and other databases; share results with teams.
• Present findings to management with recommendations for future projects.
