Job summary

The City of Arvada is seeking an experienced Plans Examiner II to review residential and commercial construction plans, ensure compliance with building codes, and provide exceptional customer service throughout the permitting process. This role works with contractors, architects, engineers, and homeowners to shape safe development in our growing community.

Essential duties include plan review, permit issuance, code interpretation, and coordination with other departments.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of a variety of inspection processes, building practices, codes and standards.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting building plans and blueprints.
• Experience with reviewing permits and applications for completeness and code compliance.

Responsibilities

• Review residential and commercial building plans for code compliance.
• Assist with building permit intake and issuance.
• Perform simple over-the-counter plan reviews for small residential projects.
