City of Eagle is seeking a Residential Plans Examiner I to review residential plans for code compliance, interpret development codes, and coordinate with builders, contractors and homeowners to keep projects moving from plan to reality.

Under supervision in the Building Department, this entry‑level role focuses on residential construction, safety standards, and teamwork. It offers full‑time employment with benefits and a competitive starting wage DOE.

Join our team as a Residential Plans Examiner and help shape safe, quality communities. Review residential plans, ensure code compliance and work with builders, contractors and homeowners to keep projects moving from a plan to reality.

Under supervision (Examiner I) of the Building Official, performs technical plans exam work (Examiner I) in evaluating, interpreting, investigating, and enforcing construction and development codes and related laws and ordinances to ensure public health, safety, and welfare. Work involves extensive communication across the City’s departments and with homeowners and related professionals.

The Plans Examiner I is the entry-level classification of the job series. The Examiner I is distinguished from the Examiner II by performing work under supervision of department staff. The work of the Examiner I is more routine and requires limited knowledge, focusing exclusively on residential construction. The Plans Examiner I enforcement responsibility is restricted to residential construction.

FT with benefits – open until filled. Hiring Range $23.59-$25 DOE.
