Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, supplemented by vocational or technical training in construction trades.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in construction or code enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Receives, reviews and analyzes routine building site and construction plans submitted for permit to determine code compliance.
• Provides information and technical assistance concerning code requirements to property owners and contractors; discusses issues and proposes solutions.
• Interprets, administers and enforces local, state, and federal development codes; researches code-related issues in code books as needed.
