Job summary

Mohave County is seeking Plans Examiner staff to review complex building plans for compliance with International Codes. The role involves public interaction at the counter, by phone, and in the field, with travel to AZ Strip office as needed.

The position requires knowledge of codes, strong communication, and ability to advise applicants on changes or alternatives to achieve code compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• ICC residential and/or commercial certification required within specified time frames.

Responsibilities

• Review complex construction plans for code compliance.
• Provide technical assistance to the public and applicants.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers and contractors to reconcile plans with codes.
• Perform plan reviews and building inspections as needed.
