Job summary

IMEG, an ESOP-owned firm, invites applications for a Planning Intern in Hartford, CT. Over a 10–12 week summer program, you will assist the planning team with research, maps, reports, and community engagement, gaining hands‑on experience in transportation and land‑use planning alongside senior planners.

Requirements include progress toward a BS degree in Planning or related field and familiarity with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Adobe Suite, or SketchUp.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a BS degree in Planning, Environment Studies, Architecture, or Arts, or equivalent.
• Experience with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Adobe Suite, and SketchUp.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting research on planning issues and demographic trends.
• Help prepare maps, reports, and planning documents using GIS and other tools.
• Participate in public meetings to gather community input and explain planning initiatives.
• Assist in reviewing zoning applications and community plans for regulatory compliance.
