Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a BS degree in Planning, Environment Studies, Architecture, or Arts
• Experience with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Adobe Suite, and SketchUp
• Strong interest in planning consulting
• Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Responsibilities

• Assist with research on planning issues, including demographic trends, land use patterns, and environmental impacts
• Help prepare maps, reports, and planning documents using GIS software and other tools
• Participate in public meetings and workshops to gather community input and share information on planning initiatives
• Assist in reviewing zoning applications and community plans for compliance with local regulations and ordinances
• Conduct site visits to gather data and assess compliance with planning regulations
• Work with public officials, developers, and community members to support planning projects
• Help prepare reports and presentations that communicate planning proposals and findings to stakeholders
• Support senior planners in managing planning projects and initiatives
