Job summary

Magna International Inc. is seeking a production and inventory control professional in Clinton, TN, to optimize scheduling and materials flow for JIT manufacturing. You will coordinate master schedules, manage inventories, and ensure adherence to TS16949 and ISO14001 standards.

The role requires supervisory experience, a BA/BS in a related field, and the ability to work evenings and weekends when needed to meet customer demand. Strong Excel and MRP skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years with a degree (or 5-8 years without a degree) supervisory experience.
• Production scheduling/inventory control experience in manufacturing, preferably automotive.
• Evenings and weekends availability when required by customer.
• BA/BS in Business Administration, Accounting or Management.
• MRP or MRP II system implementation experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the activities of Production and Inventory Control to schedule customer-driven releases and ensure on-time delivery.
• Handle, store, pack, preserve and deliver material and product per control plans and quality standards.
• Control all levels of inventory to assure JIT supply of quality product.
• Schedule production operations to maximum efficiency.
• Coordinate direct reports to ensure timely completion of tasks and safety compliance.
• Translate weekly demand into master schedule for stamping and assembly.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and engineering for planning and trial builds.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety rules per TS16949 & ISO14001.

Job Responsibilities:

• JOB PROFILE Manage the activities of Production and Inventory Control department to provide optimum support to the JIT (Just-In-Time) manufacturing organization through effective scheduling of customer-driven releases while insuring 100% on-time delivery
• Responsibility for proper handling, storage, packing, preservation and delivery of both material and product per control plans utilizing TS16949 & ISO14001 documented systems and authority to initiate appropriate action necessary to prevent non-conformance to customer specifications
• Control all levels of inventory to assure JIT supply of quality product to the customer
• Schedule production operations to maximum efficiency
• Coordinate the activities of direct reports to ensure timely completion of all assigned tasks
• Manage physical inventories to meet established goals
• Translate weekly customer demand into master schedule for stamping and assembly
• Coordinate customer volume fluctuations with the manufacturing group, to include customer shutdown schedules
• Coordinate with manufacturing and engineering the planning and scheduling of trial builds
• Coordinate old program build-outs and new program start-ups
• Housekeeping and other activities as assigned
• SH&E Support and enforce compliance to TS16949 & ISO14001 procedures and work instructions.
• Provide a safe and healthful work environment that is free of all recognized hazards for employees, contractors, and visitors
• Advise employees, contractors and visitors of any actual or potential danger to their safety or health and ensure the necessary training and/or personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided
• Cooperate with all local, state and federal agencies, such as OSHA or the EPA, in the event of an inspection
• Know, follow and enforce all applicable SH&E Rules, Policies, and Procedures
• Help manage Safety Performance Measurables such as incident rate, monthly inspection results and EOS scores
• Overall performance to the measurable elements of our SH&E system are part of annual performance review

Qualifications:

• Due to the nature of this position, individual must be available evenings and on weekends when customer requirements warrant.
