NTT DATA Romania is seeking an experienced Oracle PL/SQL Developer to design, build and optimize database solutions for a German telecom project. You will implement complex business logic at the database level, tune queries, and collaborate with integration teams to ensure scalable data processing.

The role requires 7+ years of hands-on Oracle PL/SQL experience, strong SQL skills, and fluent English and German communication.

Qualifications

• University degree in software engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in a similar Oracle PL/SQL role.
• Strong hands-on Oracle PL/SQL development experience.
• Excellent SQL and database development knowledge.
• Proven track record in PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers.
• Solid database performance tuning and query optimization skills.
• Experience with enterprise integration patterns and data transformation.
• REST/SOAP API experience and system integration knowledge.
• Git or similar VCS experience; CI/CD, build and deployment pipelines.
• Nice-to-have: Java backend, Jakarta EE or Spring Framework; good enterprise architecture understanding.
• Fluent English and German communication (written and spoken).

For this role, you will join a long-term project for a leading Telecommunications provider in Germany, operating in the areas of internet services and fiber-optic infrastructure. The project supports business-critical systems that manage complex processes, large volumes of data and integrations across multiple enterprise platforms. As part of the team, you will work in a mature enterprise environment, contributing to the development and optimization of database-driven solutions that support essential telecom business processes. The role has a strong focus on Oracle PL/SQL development, data processing and performance optimization, as well as integration with other enterprise systems.

What you’ll be doing

• Design, develop and maintain robust Oracle database solutions using PL/SQL
• Develop and optimize advanced PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers and scripts
• Implement complex business logic directly at database level
• Analyze and optimize complex SQL queries and database processes for performance and scalability
• Work with large datasets, complex schemas and high-volume data processing
• Perform SQL and PL/SQL performance tuning and identify database bottlenecks
• Contribute to data modeling and ensure efficient database design
• Design and maintain data processing and transformation flows
• Support and enhance REST/SOAP integration flows between enterprise systems
• Troubleshoot data transformation issues, integration inconsistencies and database-related incidents
• Collaborate closely with application developers, architects and other technical teams
• Participate in technical design and architecture discussions
• Contribute to code reviews, development standards and best practices
• Support production environments and investigate complex technical issues when required

What you’ll bring along

• A University degree or advanced diploma in a software engineering-related discipline, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 7 years of experience in a similar position
• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle PL/SQL development
• Excellent knowledge of SQL and database development
• Proven experience developing and optimizing PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions and triggers
• Strong understanding of database performance tuning and query optimization
• Experience working with large datasets and complex relational database schemas
• Good understanding of data modeling and database design principles
• Experience with enterprise integration patterns and data transformation
• Good knowledge of REST/SOAP APIs and system integration
• Experience with Git or similar VCS
• Experience with CI/CD, build and deployment pipelines
• Knowledge of Java backend development is considered a nice-to-have
• Experience with Jakarta EE or Spring Framework is considered a plus
• Good understanding of enterprise software architectures is a plus
• Very good English and German communication skills, written and spoken
