Job summary

McAllen Independent School District Escandon Elementary School is seeking an Instructional Coach for PK-5 to support teachers with targeted professional learning and coaching. The role focuses on differentiated instruction for at-risk students and data-driven improvement across core subjects.

The coach will model lessons, promote evidence-based strategies, and collaborate with campus leaders to implement PLCs and an intervention system aimed at improving reading achievement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s preferred.
• valid Texas Elementary teaching certificate required; bilingual/ESL cert required.
• Experience with data analysis to drive instruction and progress monitoring.
• Strong knowledge of reading strategies and TEKS/STAAR is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with targeted professional learning and coaching.
• Model instructional lessons and support differentiation for at-risk students.
• Provide resource selection and professional learning through PLCs.
• Analyze student data and monitor progress to adjust instruction.
• Develop and monitor campus intervention systems and progress.
• Coordinate with staff to ensure reading and other core programs are implemented effectively.
• Document coaching activities and prepare required reports and logs.
