Job summary

The Village Dallas is seeking a skilled Pizza Cook to join our kitchen team. You will prepare high-quality pizzas using our recipes, handle dough, sauces, toppings, and ensure safety and cleanliness.

You must work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, pay attention to detail, and be a team player dedicated to consistent quality and customer satisfaction. Experience and ServSafe certification are preferred. Physical stamina for lifting up to 50 pounds and varied shifts required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Certificate in Culinary Arts or related field preferred.
• ServSafe certified.
• A minimum of 2+ years' experience in a similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of restaurant best practices and cooking methods.
• Must be able to work cooperatively and efficiently in a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook pizzas according to standard recipes and customer preferences.
• Roll and stretch dough by hand or machine.
• Prepare pizza sauces, toppings, and other ingredients.
• Monitor food stock and place orders when necessary.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the pizza prep station and kitchen area.
• Operate pizza ovens, dough mixers, and other kitchen equipment safely.
• Maintain food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
• Coordinate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure timely service.
• Adapt to special dietary needs (gluten-free, vegan, etc.).
• Assist with opening, closing, and cleaning duties as needed.
• Ensure that all food prepared is of consistently high quality and that portions are consistently controlled. Food tickets are complete and out in a timely manner.
• Set up/prep station before service, maintains throughout service, and breaks down station according to kitchen standards daily
• Maintains neat, professional appearance and observes personal cleanliness rules at all times.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move product, equipment and supplies up to fifty (50) pounds

Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.

Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, and extreme heat.

Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock
