Job summary

Brown & Root is seeking a piping installer/foreman-like role to oversee crew activities, read isometric drawings, and guide installation and maintenance of piping systems including steam, heating, cooling and hydraulic/pneumatic controls.

The position requires coordinating tasks, cutting and threading pipes, welding supports, and ensuring safety compliance on site. Strong knowledge of pipe fabrication, layout, and fitting is essential.

Qualifications

• Reads isometric drawings to determine location, orientation, size and diameter of piping/equipment.
• Plans installation sequencing to avoid obstructions and coordinate with other workers.
• Performs fabrication, assembly, installation and maintenance of piping systems and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Selects type and size of pipe and related materials per job specs.
• Inspects worksite for obstructions.
• Plans installation sequence to avoid conflicts with other crews.
• Cuts pipe with hacksaw, cutter, torch or pipe cutting machine.
• Threads pipe with threading machine.
• Bends pipe by hand or with bending tools/machines.
• Mounts pipe hangers and brackets.
• Assembles and installs piping with various joint methods.
• Secures pipes using brackets, clamps and hangers.
• Tests piping systems for leaks by pressurizing and checking gauges.
• Welds pipe supports to steel members.
• Operates/monitors machinery to verify repairs.
• Loads, transports and unloads materials and tools.
• Assists in positioning and securing materials during installation.
• Performs minor maintenance and tool cleaning.
• Respiratory protection may be required.
• Adheres to all safety and project rules.
