Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services seeks a Leadman to supervise a crew, provide guidance to the Foreman, and perform journeyman-level piping work. Lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs and maintains piping systems and related equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling and production processes.

Responsibilities include selecting pipe types, inspecting sites, planning installations to avoid obstructions, cutting, threading, bending, welding and testing for leaks, while upholding safety and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; related field experience preferred.
• Knowledge of standard concepts and procedures; follows supervisor directions.
• Ability to work under supervision; limited independent judgment.
• Must follow safety and project rules.

Responsibilities

• Select pipe types and materials per job specs.
• Inspect site for obstructions.
• Plan installation sequence to avoid conflicts.
• Cut and thread pipe using appropriate tools.
• Bend and install pipes with fittings and joints.
• Mount pipe hangers and brackets.
• Install and maintain HVAC and piping systems.
• Test piping for leaks and observe gauges.
• Weld pipe supports to structural members.
• Load and transport materials and tools.
• Assist in lifting and securing workpieces.
• Maintain tools and equipment; follow safety rules.
