Job summary

Akkodis is seeking a Piping / Pressure Vessel Engineer for a contract in Memphis, TN. The ideal candidate will drive development and validation of mechanical fastening and torque processes to ensure reliable assembly performance and product quality.

Responsibilities include designing, validating, and optimizing fastening specs; troubleshooting defects; supporting smart torque tools; reviewing drawings and GD&T; and collaborating across manufacturing, quality, and design teams to improve process

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is required.
• 5–8 years of experience in piping systems, pressure vessels, or industrial manufacturing operations.
• Strong knowledge of ASME pressure vessel and piping codes (ASME BPVC; ASME B31).
• Experience with pressure testing, mechanical troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of pressurized systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and optimize mechanical fastening and torque specifications for manufacturing assemblies.
• Troubleshoot mechanical assembly defects and torque-related quality issues to improve reliability.
• Support the implementation, programming, and maintenance of smart torque tools and automated fastening systems.
• Review drawings, GD&T, and assembly documentation for manufacturability and compliance.
• Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for assembly and fastening issues.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Production, and Design Engineering to improve assembly efficiency and process performance.
