Job summary

Akkodis seeks a Piping Engineer in Memphis, TN for a 4+ month contract. The role covers piping systems, pressure vessels, and pressurized equipment, ensuring safety, integrity and compliance with ASME/API standards.

Requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and 5–8 years in related fields, experience reading P&IDs, and CAD tools (AutoCAD or SolidWorks). Collaboration with manufacturing, QA, and suppliers is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• 5–8 years of engineering experience involving piping systems, pressure vessels, mechanical equipment, or industrial manufacturing.
• Experience reading P&IDs, mechanical drawings, fabrication drawings, and engineering specifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for piping systems, pressure vessels, manifolds, pumps, valves, fittings, and pressurized assemblies.
• Review engineering drawings, P&IDs, mechanical layouts, and technical specifications.
• Evaluate piping configurations, material selection, pressure ratings, wall thickness, and mechanical connections.
• Support pressure vessel and piping design reviews to ensure compliance with applicable ASME, API, and industry standards.
• Review welding requirements, joint configurations, flange connections, gaskets, and sealing methods.
• Identify potential mechanical failures associated with pressure, vibration, thermal expansion, fatigue, and material compatibility.
• Support engineering change requests (ECRs) and engineering change orders (ECOs) involving mechanical and piping systems.
