Job summary

Century Contractors, LLC is seeking an estimator to prepare and coordinate full estimates on large and complex projects. You will review RFQs/RFPs and bid documents, develop RFIs, obtain pricing from materials and subcontractors, and ensure timely, accurate estimates.

The role requires reading and interpreting technical documents, effective communication, and experience with estimating systems such as Quick-pen.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and expertise.
• Ability to read and interpret bid front ends, scopes of work, blueprints, safety programs, QA/QC manuals.
• Speak effectively before groups of clients or employees.
• Knowledge of Quick-pen software (or similar estimating systems) is strongly encouraged.
• Experience with estimating techniques and cost control.
• Ability to perform detailed labor and material take-offs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate preparation of full estimates on large and complex projects.
• Review RFQs, RFPs and bid documents to ensure accuracy.
• Develop RFIs for inconsistencies and missing information.
• Obtain pricing for materials and bids from subcontractors.
• Update computer database for labor and materials.
• Develop resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors.
