Job summary

Central Civil is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead preconstruction and estimating from pursuit to bid submission. You will oversee estimating activities, develop budgets, manage pricing, and serve as a key contact for clients, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams.

You will lead bids for complex projects, review plans and contract docs, and mentor the estimating staff while maintaining relationships with stakeholders and ensuring timely, accurate proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of construction estimating experience, preferably with large/complex projects.
• Proven experience leading competitive bids in public and private sectors.
• Strong subcontractor/vendor relationships and pricing knowledge.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Hard Dollar or equivalent estimating software, AGTEK, MS Excel/Word, Adobe Acrobat.
• Experience with Bluebeam, Primavera P6, BidExpress, BidSync or HCSS preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimates, bids, budgets, quantity takeoffs, and cost evaluations for complex construction projects.
• Review plans, specifications, scopes and contract documents to develop accurate estimates.
• Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier pricing and scopes.
• Lead and mentor estimating staff and review estimates for accuracy and completeness.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and engineers.
• Identify project risks, value-engineering opportunities, and cost-saving options.
• Manage bid process, tracking, solicitations, scope reviews, and final proposals.
• Collaborate with project management on constructability, schedules, budgets, and requirements.
• Support business development and client relationship efforts.
• Maintain estimating databases and cost trends; ensure bids are timely and professional.
