Job summary

Day & Zimmermann is seeking a seasoned Piping Designer 3 to transform project scopes into precise piping designs, layouts, and specifications. You will employ advanced CAD and 3D tools to deliver compliant, efficient solutions across diverse projects and industries.

The role requires a strong background in piping design, ability to mentor CAD staff, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams from design through field execution, including site data collection and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• AA or equivalent in related engineering, design, or technical field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in piping design or related engineering discipline.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver piping designs and layouts with high accuracy.
• Use CAD and 3D design tools to create models, drawings, and specs.
• Interpret vendor drawings and engineering documents to integrate design elements.
• Conduct material take-offs to quantify resources for budgeting and procurement.
• Oversee CAD personnel and coordinate with engineering and construction disciplines.
• Visit client sites to collect field data and validate design assumptions.
