Job summary

TC Energy in Columbus, Ohio seeks a multi-skilled USGO Corrosion/Pipeline/M&R Technician to support high-pressure natural gas pipelines and related facilities. You will perform cathodic protection work, field surveys, and maintenance to ensure safety and reliability.

The role requires strong problem-solving, communication, and the ability to work with minimal supervision, with on-call rotations and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience locating and marking subsurface pipeline infrastructure.
• Thorough understanding of stop work authority (SWA) and safe work practices.
• Knowledge of lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and related software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct periodic resistivity and potential surveys on pipelines, compressor stations, and facilities to identify corrosive areas and monitor cathodic protection systems.
• Check rectifiers and anode structures and assess operating efficiency.
• Assist in analyzing troublesome cathodic protection areas and propose solutions.
• Install interference bonds with other companies.
• Perform field tests for new ground bed installations and maintain cathodic protection equipment.
• Oversee and participate in close interval surveys and manage contractors.
• Test and diagnose electrical systems; use ohmmeters and voltmeters to ensure circuit integrity.
• Receive and manage equipment documentation and serve as technical resource for field staff.
