Job summary

ONE Gas, Inc. is seeking a field operations inspector in Texas to oversee pipeline construction and maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with company and government standards.

You will inspect contractor work, assist with tools and equipment, and maintain essential records. The role requires 2–4 years of relevant experience, a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred), and strong ability to read maps and blueprints with fluency in English.

Qualifications

• This role typically calls for two to four years of relevant experience; (Minimum of one-year relevant experience is required).
• Experience with construction and maintenance of transmission and distribution pipeline systems.
• Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and/or industry standards and regulations regarding pipeline construction and safety.
• Reading and interpreting maps, atlas pages, blueprints, budget information, and job orders.
• Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.

Responsibilities

• Inspects installation, maintenance, and removal work by contractors on transmission and distribution pipelines to ensure compliance.
• Assists with operation and maintenance of tools and equipment including pipe wrenches, cutters, and fusion equipment.
• Performs routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Maintains logs and compiles reports (inspection logs, leak reports, job orders).
• Investigates customer orders and emergency situations including low pressure calls and leaks.
• Reviews invoices for accuracy and quantity, materials used, and pricing.
