Job summary

ONE Gas, Inc. in Gonzales, TX is hiring for a field position performing pipeline construction, installation, and maintenance on transmission and distribution systems. The role requires manual tool use, safety training, and ability to travel over uneven terrain, with CDL eligibility and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of use, function and maintenance of manual tools and equipment.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Experience with construction and maintenance of transmission and/or distribution pipeline systems.
• Willingness to work in excavations and confined spaces.
• Basic customer service activities.
• Training relative to working in company and governmental operating/safety procedures.
• Knowledge of plastic fusion.
• Understanding of maps, atlas pages, blueprints, and job orders.
• Fluency in reading/writing English.

Responsibilities

• Perform pipeline construction, installation, maintenance and removal on transmission and distribution pipelines.
• Load, unload, and operate tools and equipment including but not limited to: pipe and crescent wrenches, pipe cutters and threaders, hammers and screwdrivers, etc.
• Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Investigate customer related orders and emergency situations (low pressure calls, leaks, fires).
• Regular and reliable attendance is required; may perform additional duties as assigned.
