Job summary

ONEOK, Inc. in Texas is seeking a pipeline operations technician with hands-on experience in gas gathering and transmission systems.

You will perform operations and maintenance at compressor stations, dehydration facilities, and related equipment, including startup/shutdown, line locates, and cathodic protection tasks. The ideal candidate has field experience with pigging, gauging tanks, and leak surveys, can document gas/liquid flows and maintenance logs, and can respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Experience operating and maintaining pipeline systems in natural gas and liquids gathering/transmission.
• Experience in field functions including measurement, cathodic protection, and compressor/pump station operations.
• Knowledge of company and governmental operating/safety procedures and environmental regulations.
• Experience with pigging pipelines, blowing drips, gauging tanks, and collecting liquids.

Responsibilities

• Perform pipeline operations and maintenance activities on systems including compressor stations, gas storages, dehydration facilities, pumping facilities, measurement facilities, and related equipment.
• Startup and shutdown; changing charts; locating and marking lines.
• Monitoring cathodic protection and basic pipe coatings; blowing drips.
• Perform and/or dispatch line locates; construction watch; monitor and replace lubricants, fluids, inhibitors, chemicals as needed.
• Prepare information and reports on gas/liquid flow, maintenance logs, pipeline/corrosion activities and construction inspection.
• Drive and ensure maintenance is completed on assigned company vehicles; respond to emergencies.
