POSITION DESCRIPTION

The engineer will provide engineering support on a variety of natural gas pipeline and meter projects in order to provide for the safe, efficient, and reliable transportation of natural gas. This person will be responsible for basic pipeline engineering and interpreting company specifications to scope projects and direct engineering and construction firms. This person will be responsible for checking drawing packages for adherence to project goals as well as company and industry specifications, codes, and standards. This person will select appropriate material and ensure it is fit for purpose. This person will support various project managers and numerous projects. This position will primarily support pipeline and meter station projects.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline
  • Project Management experience with managing budgets
  • Strong technical writing capabilities required to draft engineering, construction, and land contracts.
  • Strong skill level in Microsoft Excel Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project Well organized with a high degree of initiative and motivation
  • Ability to work positively and effectively prioritize in a fast-paced environment Willingness to learn
  • Able to communicate well, both verbal and written, with team members, clients permitting agency personnel and contractors.
  • Capable of speaking to management on behalf of the project team Able to travel up to 50% of the time Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE

Internship or Co-op with an oil/gas/utility operating company EIT 1-3 years of experience in design and project management in a pipeline engineering related field Understanding of the design requirements for pipelines and the applicable ASME B31.8 and 49 CFR Part 192 codes Basic survey skills and knowledge of survey technology

REQUIRED EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in engineering

Civil/Mechanical Engineering, MBA,PE
