Job summary

Sunoco LP is seeking a Pipeline Control Operator to ensure safe, reliable product flow across Sunoco Pipeline Systems. The role controls pumps and field equipment to move refined products, ammonia and crude oil, and reports data to the Partnership.

The ideal candidate will monitor pressures, collaborate with multiple departments, respond to emergencies, and manage inventories and delivery schedules while maintaining quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass PHMSA drug/alcohol screening and random testing.
• Live within an hour of the control room.
• Familiar with PC apps (Excel, Word, Project) and simulation tools.
• Proven multitasking, analytical and judgment skills; detail oriented.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Some travel and overtime is required.
• 12-hour shift with day/night, weekends and some holidays.
• Ability to work from an alternate Control Center in emergencies.
• Preferred: experience in remote control or pipeline ops; basic hydraulics/measurment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain pipeline pressures within design criteria.
• Coordinate changes with departments and respond to emergencies.
• Serve as first contact in emergency response and notify sunoco management.
• Initiate pump and delivery schedule changes; monitor inventories and tank levels.
• Direct, control and monitor product delivery at remote locations via field equipment.
• Troubleshoot communications, SCADA, valves and related equipment.
• Complete daily throughput reports.
• Evaluate operational problems and provide recommendations.
