Job summary

TC Energy’s Rayne, Louisiana Construction Services team is expanding to support pipeline maintenance and construction. The Construction Technician will assist with coating, excavation, welding support, material handling, and field inspections while maintaining strict safety practices and independent execution on site.

This role requires extensive travel (75%) and offers overtime opportunities. Candidates should have a high school diploma and 4+ years in a mechanical setting; CDL preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Four plus years of work experience in a mechanical related environment.

Responsibilities

• Coat pipelines.
• Spot excavation activities.
• Assist welders with welder activities.
• Complete general labor activities on various types of projects.
• Ship, receive, and unload materials for projects.
• Operate power tools such as drills, grinders, torches, etc.
• Gather MTRs for all materials applicable to a project.
• Perform red line reviews/FMRs and work with internal/external engineering as needed.
• Assist with ordering of welding consumables.
• Order and manage inventory of coating materials.
• Operate equipment necessary to off-load trucks.
• Oversee small equipment certification logs and ensure compliance.
• Catalog and complete project record binders for all projects.
• Assist crew leader and associate with obtaining documentation, op qualifications, and procedures.
• Assist crew on constructability reviews, safety aspects, and compliance for projects.
• Cross train with project planner and fill-in as needed to support program.
• Assist planner on information gathering for quotations and other engineering data as needed.
• Complete daily inspections forms.
• Other tasks as required
