Job summary

TC Energy in Rayne, Louisiana is hiring a Construction Technician to support pipeline construction and maintenance across the United States. The role requires a strong safety mindset, the ability to work independently in field conditions, and frequent travel up to 75%.

Responsibilities include assisting welders, performing general labor, material handling, and coordinating with engineers. CDL preferred and prior pipeline or construction experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Four plus years of mechanical-related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Coat pipelines.
• Spot excavation activities.
• Assist welders with welder activities.
• Complete general labor activities on various types of projects.
• Ship, receive, and unload materials for projects.
• Operate power tools such as drills, grinders, torches, etc.
• Gather MTRs for all materials applicable to a project.
• Perform red line reviews/FMRs and work with internal/external engineering as needed.
• Assist with ordering of welding consumables.
• Order and manage inventory of coating materials.
• Operate equipment to off-load trucks.
• Oversee small equipment certification logs and ensure compliance.
• Catalog and complete project record binders for all projects.
• Assist crew leader and associate with obtaining documentation, op qualifications, and procedures.
• Assist crew on constructability reviews, safety aspects, and compliance for projects.
• Cross train with project planner and fill-in as needed to support program.
• Assist planner on information gathering for quotations and other engineering data as needed.
• Complete daily inspections forms.
• Other tasks as required.
