Job summary

Garney is seeking a Pipelayer in Tampa, FL. You will lay and install underground pipes for water, sewer, and drainage projects, reading blueprints and following specifications. The role requires standing for long periods, operating with crews, and performing backfill and testing tasks.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience installing large diameter pipes.
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications to determine work procedures.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and perform tasks.
• Willing to complete Garney certifications including Rigging/Signaling, Confined Space, and OSHA 10 hour.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the work area by directing trenching and grading.
• Assist equipment operators in placing pipe.
• Direct operators with hand signals and supervise backfilling.
• Set up pipe lasers and transits; locate and mark pipe positions.
• Assemble and install valves, fittings, and pipe materials.
• Test pipes for leakage and cut pipes to length.
