Garney is seeking a Pipelayer in Tampa, FL. The role involves assembling, installing, and repairing underground pipes for water, sewer, and drain systems. You will work with various pipe materials and support field operations through direct coordination with equipment operators.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of relevant experience, the ability to read blueprints, and is willing to obtain Garney certifications and work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience installing large diameter pipes for water, sewer, storm drain.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Must be able to stand for an entire day.
• Willing to obtain Garney certifications including Rigging and Signaling, Confined Space Training, and OSHA 10.

Responsabilités

• Prepare the area in which pipe will lay by directing trenching and grading.
• Assist equipment operators in the placement of pipe.
• Direct equipment operators with hand signals.
• Backfill around pipe using hand tools.
• Set-up and work with pipe lasers and transits.
• Locate and mark the correct position of pipe and fittings in an underground trench.
• Assemble and install valves, fittings and pipe composed of metal, PVC, ductile and concrete.
• Joins pipes by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, and plastic solvent cement.
• Test pipes for leakage, measures and cuts pipe.
