Job summary

Granite Construction in Tempe, AZ is seeking a skilled pipefitter to assemble, connect, repair, and install pipe systems for storm drain, sanitary sewer, water, and dry utilities. You will dig trenches, set grade, locate existing lines, and ensure joints are sealed using appropriate methods.

Requires at least 2 years of pipelaying experience, adherence to safety standards, ability to work outdoors in all weather, and ability to work day, swing, or night shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• 2 years of pipelaying experience in underground construction preferred.
• Knowledge of safety standards and underground facilities laws preferred.
• Ability to wear a full body harness and work at heights, as needed.
• Able to work day, swing, and night shifts and in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Dig trenches to required depths by hand or with trenching tools.
• Set grade and align pipes using lasers, grades rods, or levels.
• Locate existing pipes for repair or replacement with indicators.
• Cut and fit pipes, join joints with fittings, welding, cement or glue.
• Assemble and disassemble trench boxes and shoring systems.
• Work collaboratively in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.
