Job summary

General Excavating is seeking a motivated Pipelayer to install and repair water, sanitary, and storm pipelines under supervision. The role requires attention to safety, the ability to work in physically demanding environments, and strong communication with the crew leader.

Responsibilities include laying pipe per blueprints, aligning with grades, and using lasers or transits for elevations. Minimum 1 year underground utility experience preferred; OSHA 10/30 preferred; valid DL and drug test

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• OSHA 10 or 30 is preferred but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of pipe materials and fittings is needed.

Responsibilities

• Install, align, and connect pipe systems for water, sewer, and storm drainage.
• Grade and level trench bottoms using hand tools.
• Lay pipe according to blueprints and specifications; ensure joints are sealed.
• Use lasers, transits, or other instruments to set elevations and grades.
• Backfill and compact trenches as work progresses.
• Maintain tools and equipment in proper condition.
• Follow all safety policies and PPE usage.
