Job summary

Granite Construction Company is seeking a skilled pipe professional to safely assemble, connect, repair, install, and construct pipe systems for storm drain, sanitary sewer, water, and dry utilities. This role focuses on safe, precise pipework across multiple utilities.

Key duties include trenching, grade setting with lasers and levels, pipe cutting and joining, pipe location for repairs, and operating trench boxes with strong safety discipline.

Qualifications

• Two years of pipelaying experience preferred.
• Knowledge of safety standards and underground facilities law.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and safety-sensitive environments.

Responsibilities

• Dig trenches to required depths by hand or with trenching tools.
• Set grade for pipe installation using lasers, grade rods, eye levels, and transit levels.
• Locate existing pipes to repair or replace using indicators.
• Pothole utilities with hand tools or pothole machine.
• Grade trench bases with tamping machines or hand tools.
• Cut pipes to required lengths and fit joints.
• Align and position pipes for welding or sealing.
• Connect pipes and seal joints using fittings and cement/glue.
• Assemble trench boxes and shoring systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
