Job summary

Burgess Civil in Tampa is seeking an experienced Pipe Layer to assemble, connect and construct pipe systems for storm or sanitation sewers, drains and water mains. You will prep ground, dig trenches, align pipes and seal joints using cement or glue. Travel to different sites is required; you must lift 50+ lbs, work in varying weather, and pass a drug test.

Compensation will be based on experience. This role requires independence and teamwork, plus the ability to measure areas, cut pipes to fit,

Job description

We are seeking an EXPERIENCED PIPE LAYER!

The pipelayer is responsible for assembling, connecting, and constructing pipe systems for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains. Ensures ground is prepped and trenches dug out for pipes. Aligns pipes and seals joints together with cement or glue. Install new pipes around a property using an eclectic assortment of tools, including transit levels, grade rods and levels. Measure the surrounding area where the pipes are going to be installed and cut the pipes to match the allotted area. Connect multiple pipes together by sealing joints, which will entail using glue, cement or welding devices. Dig trenches when pipes need to be laid beneath the earth and cover the pipes once they are in place with dirt or other similar materials. Locate existing pipe around a property that needs to be removed by utilizing radio or magnetic indicators.

Requirements and Physical Expectations:

• At least 1-2 years of experience
• Reliable transportation.
• All positions require that you travel to different locations based on business needs.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Ability to lift 50 or more pounds and ability to lift, carry, bend, crawl, squat, climb, kneel, push, pull, and crouch and able to stand for long period of time
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and on different terrain types
  

Pay:Compensation will be based on experience.

Must be able to pass a drug test.
