Job Summary

Plan, lay out, and perform all types of pipe fitting and fabrication work in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision. Must have the ability to take direction from a higher skilled worker or foreman.

  • Proficient in related trade mathematics.
  • Inspect work, ensure accuracy and compliance, explain deficiencies, and take corrective actions.
  • Seek opportunities for improvement and learn from others.
  • Maintain positive relationships within the crew.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Produce high-quality work safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure availability of materials, tools, and information for work.
Minimum Job Requirements
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, safety, and quality standards, and use trade tools and equipment.
  • Experience: 3+ years (Level I), 4+ years (Level II), 5+ years (Level III), 6+ years (Senior) in industrial/commercial construction with an understanding of the pipefitter trade.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to wear PPE (steel-toed shoes, gloves, glasses, etc.).
  • Reach above shoulders and below waist frequently.
  • Stooping, kneeling, bending occasionally.
  • Use of electronic devices for communication.
  • Move in confined, cluttered, uneven areas.
  • Follow safety standards and procedures.
  • Lift, handle objects up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Work long shifts in varying conditions.
