Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services in Louisiana is seeking a skilled pipefitter to lay out, fabricate, assemble, install and maintain piping systems and related equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling and production processes.

You will select pipe types, inspect sites for obstructions, plan installation sequences, cut, thread and bend pipes, and mount supports. You will test leaks and ensure safety rules are followed, often under supervision.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent with 2-3 years of field experience.
• Ability to follow instructions and work under immediate supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs and maintains piping systems and related equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, and production systems.
• Selects pipe types/sizes per job specs and sources supports, hangers, and cylinders.
• Inspects worksite for obstructions and plans installation sequence to avoid conflicts.
• Cuts pipes using hacksaw, pipe cutter, and other tools; threads and bends pipes as required.
• Mounts hangers/brackets; assembles joints using appropriate methods and tools.
• Tests piping systems for leaks and ensures safety and compliance with rules.
