Job description

Position Summary

Plan, lay-out, install, test, and repair all types of piping systems in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

• Maintain knowledge of various pipe types and systems, including butt welded, socket welded, threaded, Victaulic, grooved, glued, and fused joints.
• Read isometric drawings, take measurements, fabricate, and install piping efficiently.
• Align, bolt, and clamp components for welding.
• Assemble and secure pipes, fittings, and related equipment by welding and threading joints.
• Position and secure materials during installation and install items as per plans and specifications.
• Distinguish different metal thicknesses and types.
• Handle rigging equipment manually.
• Operate tools such as beveling machines, grinders, pipe threaders, hammers, torches, magnetic drills, and Saw-Zall.
• Layout and install equipment, vessels, skids, pumps, pipes, and supports.
• Hydro test piping systems.
• Estimate sizes, distances, quantities, and determine time, costs, resources, or materials needed.
• Inspect work for compliance, identify deficiencies, and implement corrective actions.

• Work in confined, cluttered, and uneven spaces.
• Complete tasks in noisy and dusty environments.
• Move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Possess required tools.
• Observe safety and project rules; perform other duties as required.
• Pass drug, medical, and background checks.
