Position Summary
Plan, lay-out, install, test and repair all types of piping systems in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes and industry standards.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Maintain working knowledge of various types of pipe and pipe systems, including butt welded, socket welded, threaded, Victaulic, grooved, glued and fused joints
- Read isometric drawings, take measurements, fabricate and install piping efficiently
- Align, bolt, and clamp components of fabricated metal products for welding
- Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment via welding and threading
- Position and secure materials during installation; install all items per plans and specifications
- Distinguish different metal thicknesses and types
- Handle and apply rigging equipment manually
- Operate tools such as beveling machines, grinders, pipe threaders, hammers, torches, magnetic drills, and Saw-Zall
- Layout and install equipment, vessels, skids, pumps, pipe, and supports
- Hydro test piping systems
- Estimate sizes, distances, quantities; determine time, costs, resources, and materials needed
- Inspect subordinate work for compliance, identify deficiencies, and implement corrective actions
Qualifications
- Experience as a Pipefitter Journeyman in a powerplant/industrial setting required
- Strong knowledge and skills for the position
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions and communicate effectively
- Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand, power, and measurement tools
Requirements
- Must be able to move about a construction/industrial site constantly, including standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Work in outdoor and changing weather conditions
- Work irregular hours, including weekends, overtime, and holidays
- Use ladders, scaffolds, and mechanical platforms to access work areas, potentially exceeding 200 feet
- Work in confined, cluttered, and uneven spaces
- Complete tasks in noisy and dusty environments
- Move items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Possess required tools
- Follow safety and project rules; perform other duties as needed
- Pass drug, alcohol, medical, and background checks
