Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services seeks a Journeyman pipefitter with 3+ years of field experience to read instructions, plan and perform work independently. They install and maintain piping systems, supports, and related hydraulic/pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, and processing systems.

Responsibilities include selecting pipe types, inspecting sites, planning sequence, cutting, threading, bending, mounting fittings, welding, testing for leaks, and following safety rules

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; prior field experience preferred.
• Knowledge of basic shop mathematics and interpreting drawings.

Responsibilities

• Select type and size of pipe and related materials per job specifications.
• Inspect worksite for obstructions and plan installation sequence.
• Cut, thread, and bend pipe using appropriate tools and machines.
• Mount pipe hangers, install fixtures, and join piping systems.
• Install and maintain refrigeration and air conditioning systems and controls.
• Test piping systems for leaks and ensure safety compliance.
• Operate related machinery and assist in material handling.
• Follow safety rules and project procedures.
